UI design & project management
Taylormade Detailing, LLC is a car detailing and services business in Springfield, OH. Our stakeholder started this business as a pandemic hobby, using Facebook to find and connect with clients. As his business took off, he realized he wanted a website to represent his business and values in a better way than Facebook could. He needed a better way to connect with his clients, share information about his service offerings, and receive service requests from clients.
Our team consisted of a UX Researcher, UX Designer, and Web Developer. My roles were the Project Manager and UX Designer.

Once our UX Researcher and I had a knowledge transfer where she shared her findings with me, I was able to get started on the visual design. I began with the low-fidelity wireframes below.
low-fi homepage
low-fi services page
low-fi contact form
For the UI style guide I aimed for a classic car look. Our stakeholder wanted to target clients that really loved cars and taking care of them, and to showcase his expertise.
I kept the colors simple with red, black, and white, making sure the red held a good contrast ratio for AA requirements.
I wanted the overall feel to be slick and fresh like the feeling of a new car.
As I worked on the style guide, I turned my low fidelity designs over to the UX Researcher to work through user testing. I assisted the facilitation of the user interviews and observed them using the new design to gather insights and feedback.
Our stakeholder wanted to make sure the service offerings were clear, so I had a few different layouts to test for that section. The client wasn't sure of the best way to present his offerings, and I was able to get a lot of good feedback from several rounds of A|B testing.
After syncing with Research on the user feedback learnings, I decided to separate the service offerings by type as opposed to displaying them individually. Adding process copy and images made things a lot more clear.
The user testing candidates and our stakeholder liked the new layout and seeing it filled out with color and content. The UX Researcher and I made a few more tweaks and then I handed it off to the developer to build and publish the site!
