design enhancements & building a new Career page experience
The Bradley website enhancement project was primarily focused on building a new experience for the Career section of their site. We were responsible for building out the content strategy and bringing a fresh design to the pages to attract new recruits and modernize their content. We also refreshed the design of the Locations and People Search sections of the site.
PROJECT ROLE
UX Designer
TIMELINE
April 2023 - July 2023
We were very fortunate to have a fully stacked team of various disciplines working on this project. I got to partner with a Sr. UX Designer to work through our UX activities. We then got to collaborate with two Visual Designers to bring our ideas to life. I collaborated with UX and QA to write our Functional Annotations before we passed everything on to our Development team to build. This was a new experience for me to have the roles separated out - but it brought a lot of fun challenges and learning opportunities my way.
The UX team began the project by laying out high level content maps in Miro (left) to decide on the page flow and the kinds of content we'd need to include. We had a great client relationship on this project - they were quick with their feedback and very collaborative.
One challenge we faced here was we didn't have content built out for this page yet so we had to use placeholders for ideas we thought our client would like and create content for what we knew they wanted to incorporate.
We performed a Site Audit (below) to figure out problem areas and breaks in the user flow. We also used Miro to do a Competitor Analysis to compare experiences and designs.
We then moved our high level content maps into initial wireframing in Figma. We started building out components and figuring out where our content blocks should go.
One of the big things I learned at this point in the project was the magic of auto-layout and grids! They boosted my efficiency and really polished up the design elements. Before and after example on a card grid below.
We got solid team and Client feedback at this point and began to refine the content and design.
